Custom Amira Defaults for 3DEM Users

At the link below you can download some text files that will make some of the default Amira settings better (IMHO) for 3DEM users.

Some of the changes this will make:

– Rotation disabled by default during slice alignment
– Less aggressive non-local means parameters (on a 2Gb test dataset this also reduced computation tie by 5x!)
– Scalebars will resemble what you see in the literature by default
– Surface View modules are smoother using vertex normal instead of triangle normal
– Generated surfaces have 30 – 50% fewer triangles on average (and are easier on resources!)
– Default Volren colormap changed from red to gray
– Viewer background set to solid black (greatly increases video quality)
– Screen resolution culling enabled
– Camera is orthogonal
